BTADD Announces Hayswood Hospital Community Involvement Plan
The Community Involvement Plan (CIP) serves as a guide for Frontier Housing, Inc. to engage and inform the community members, local officials, community groups, and other interested parties, in environmental and cleanup activities of the Hayswood Project. Frontier Housing, Inc was recently awarded $1,999,900 in US EPA Brownfield Cleanup Funds for Hayswood Hospital.
These funds will be used to toward re-mediation and cleanup of the old hospital, so it may be repurposed and re-used. The hospital was originally constructed in 1923 and additional floors were added in 1952 and 1960. The hospital was closed and remained vacant since 1983.
