Mike Thomas Performing Arts Scholarship Announced
The Maysville-Mason County Arts Commission announces a $1,000 scholarship in memory of Mike Thomas, former director of the Maysville Players. Qualified applicants must be graduating seniors majoring in music, dance theater or other related fields.
Michael Thomas (1955-2022) was a graduate of Maysville High School and attended
Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green where he was a theater major with a concentration in Theatre Arts. Early experiences with The Maysville Players fostered in him a lifelong passion for theater upon which he built his career as an actor, producing director, and teacher with a special zeal for theater education for young people.
